Tracey Slater is an emerging contemporary artist, born and based in Derby, U.K.  "Lines are of huge importance to my work. Each raw line can encapsulate a moment, an emotion, and this fascinates me. I have an urgency to my drawings, possibly because I’m scared and making up for lost time (due to illness) . I just want to convey my pure joy in creating lines. I am heavily inspired by old photographs. I love imagining what the people were thinking and feeling in that photo".  Slater's practice has been staggered by the artist's struggles with her health. Slater has exhibited at Mall Galleries, London, UK; Wilder Gallery, London, UK;  worked with All Mouth Gallery, Juice gallery, Hunter Gallery and was the winner of the Delphian Open Call.
