Achievement Fatigue by Oriele Steiner
Predominantly, using colour and light, Oriele’s work explores a wide array of painting techniques, processes and experimentation. She is interestedin a palette’s ability to evoke emotion, whether through direct, singular use or via juxtaposition and dissonance. Her compositions portray vivid dreamscapes, and the figures within offer a sense of eeriness. The figures themselves often make their way in to her direct environment via found photography, imagination
and drawings. Organic forms become motifs which dominate her work and the repetition of these motifs allow her to build a relationship with the imagery. Through uninhibited, free-associative drawing and painting Oriele is able to translate impulsive thoughts and capture a childlike and immediate quality to her work.
